I was up early one morning looking for a clean image of Mammoth Mountain with the moon setting behind it. I stopped on the side of 395 for a quick look at conditions. The moon was aligned beautifully just behind the mountain. I snapped off a few shots and within moments a small cloud formed on the crest. In the next few minutes, the cloud grew rapidly and the moon disappeared behind this fantastic formation. There really wasn’t a moment of ideal cloud and moon. I’ll take the cloud.
